Electro Acupuncture is a specialist acupuncture technique, often used for chronic pain conditions.
By using low levels of electric current this form of acupuncture can stimulate nerves and relieve pain.
How does it work
Like traditional acupuncture, needles are inserted into various points around the body. Pairs of needles are then connected to a very low frequency electrical current, which gently vibrate the needles to stimulate nerves. The pulse style, frequency and intensity of the current is adjusted to produce different responses. The mildly stimulating sensation is calming and even enjoyable.
How does it help?
The small electrical charge helps to provide pain relief and dissipate inflammation by increasing blood flow to the area. It relaxes muscle tissue and improves circulation to stimulate the body’s healing process.
